A Ride - Double Barrel Bartlett 57 miles 8AM
About this event
8AM departure from Carefree Sundial / 7AM departure from Trilogy
Participants should coordinate carpools with other peoople registered for this ride.
This is an A level sponsored training ride to help get our legs ready for the Mount Lemmon climb on April 1.
The Double Barrel Bartlett Lake ride is 57 mile ride with just under 6,000 feet of climbing. Consider it a bigger, badder Bartlett (not for the faint of heart). It will be a serious test for our Tucson readiness with the most climbing we will attempt on any ride before Mount Lemmon. |
Climb 1,000 feet in 11 miles up Cave Creek Road to paved end of Seven Springs Road, then descend to Bartlett Lake Road. A big descent, another big climb to Horseshoe Dam road, then a big descent toward Bartlett Lake. Take the last left just before the Marina. Final spur takes us North along Bartlett Lake past Rattle Snake Cove to Yellow Cliffs for an additional 7 miles and 800 feet of climb. Take a rest stop in the Marina, then reverse course for the big climb out of Bartlett Lake, climb back to Cave Creek Road and descent into Carefree.
Stop will be at the marina café or general store for coffee.
This ride should be epic!
Refueling lunch (you'll have earned it, maybe two) at Local Jonny's for those interested after the ride. |
