A Ride - Hill to the Century 7:30 AM -- CANCELED

About this event

If you survived Skull Valley and Double Barrell Bartlett and are looking for the next level of challenge, then the "Hill to the Century" may be the ride for you.

This is an A sponsored training ride for the Mount Lemmon climb the following week.

This new route sandwiches meaty Bartlett Lake climbs between two hearty 44 mile out-and-back sections and garnished with Thunderbird Hill both ways.  This ride with 6,200 feet of climb and 114 miles should satisfy the heartiest of appetites.

Cruising speed is 18-20+ mph. Overall ride will average 18-19 mph. Our goal is to work together as a team, using a pace line to share the workload during the non-hill sections.

The ride follows the classic Deer Valley route over Thunderbird Hill.  Travel along Pinnacle Peak, then South an 19th for a cruise past the Deer Valley airport before we start our ascent into CareFree up N. Cave Creek road and onto  Bartlett Lake.

Rest stops are planned for a Starbucks at mile 25 or 30, the Marina Cove Restaurant / General Store at mile 57 and a lunch stop at Local Jonny's at mile 78.

Return ride from Cave Creek will follow the same route we road out.

This ride should be epic!
